| Dave Morin was born and
raised in California. He went to school in Santa Clara, CA. His
first car was a 1966 Super Sport with a big block motor and a 4-speed
tranny. This was the perfect car for a young guy to get into trouble
with. He worked on his cars and his friend’s hot rods.
Dave worked in machine shops for 22 years. He owned a highly successful
machine shop called Prime Machining. Dave now owns a racecar prep
and general street car service shop called Motion Motorsports in
Morgan Hill, CA.
Dave is definitely a Chevy guy when it comes to his cars. He has
a Chevy 1-ton dually pick-up truck, a 1965 Corvette, a 1996 Corvette
Grand Sport and a 1989 Camaro 1LE road race car.
Dave started racing a 1989 Corvette in SCCA Solo II in 1995. He
won Rookie of the Year and was hooked on racing. In 1996, he won
most improved driver. Dave and Don Campbell competed on the track
many times together. In 2002, Dave road raced his Camaro (pictured
on this page) in NASA’s CMC finishing 5th in season points.
In 2003, Dave road raced the Camaro again, finishing 2nd in season
points. Dave continues to love the racing game. He participates
in road racing with the ‘89, autocrossing with the ’96,
car shows with the ’65, as well as being a valuable crew member
for Campbell Racing.
